WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

I love joining Joyce on her Wednesday Hodge Podge. She asks great questions.

1. Chinese New Year will be celebrated on February 10th, and 2013 is the year of the snake.  When did you last see a snake?  Are you okay around snakes or do they give you the shivers?

The last time I saw a snake was at the Charleston Aquarium with our grandchildren. I like snakes that are behind glass.

2. The color red in Chinese culture usually means good luck.  Do you believe in luck?

I think you have to make you own luck. You can’t win a lottery if you don’t buy a ticket.

3. sledding-ice skating-building a snowman...if given a choice, which activity would you choose?  Which of the three have you done most recently?

None of the above.

4.  Ralph Waldo Emerson is credited as saying, "The years teach much which the days never knew."  Where have you seen this quote played out in your own life?

I learn something new everyday and I am especially thankful when my grandchildren teach me something.

5. When was the last time you ate a cupcake?

I made banana cupcakes last month.

6. What's something you can't say no to?

I can’t say no to D H. Also I have hard time saying no to my grandchildren.

7.  Are you a doodler?

No!

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I have never spent so much time watching the weather. We keep looking at the long range forecast for a good day to get away. The bags are packed and I can leave at a moments notice. Can hardly wait!

I don't even like snakes when they're behind a glass!

Wow, I hope the weather gives you a break soon. I can tell you're more than ready to travel :)
I hope you get a break soon! Have a great day!

After reading all about cupcakes everyone's had recently, I'm now hungry for cupcakes!

You sound like us as we prepared for our trip last month. The weather held out, but we still left several hours early - on a whim - a blessing of being retired. ;-) Have a GREAT time on your trip!
No, I'm not a fan of snakes, either! A trip to warmer climate sure sounds like a winner to me!

Heading to Charleston and then on to Florida and a cruise in the Caribbean.
Have a great time on your trip!
It certainly hard to say no to the little ones. My nephew still has a pouty lip when told no, it's heartbreaking. http://sfgiants4life.blogspot.com
Hope you get a good day soon. That anticipation would drive me crazy. I believe if I was blessed with Grandchildren I would never be able to say no to them!

I am envious of your "bags packed and ready" status. With kids at home, as you know, even a trip to the grocery store requires advance planning!
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Enjoy your trip!
I hope you have a wonderful vacation! :D And the weather is good for your travels.

glad your mom's pacemaker is back on track! This is my 2nd one also, will be a year old in April. My first one I got when I was 45, ten years ago. Electric short. Enjoyed your answers!

If I have to see a snake, behind glass would be the best way to see them.
I hope you get some good weather soon so that you can go on your trip.
We've got quite the forecast here for tomorrow. They keep changing the amounts...I've heard everything from five inches to two feet. That's a pretty big difference! Safe travels!
