FRIDAY FRAGMENTS & FOUR FILL IN FUN

Feeling Beachie     Half-Past Kissin' Time

It has been a very busy week. I have not been home for lunch since last Sunday. On Monday I met the girls who have retired at a lunch and on Tuesday it was lunch with the other Retired Group. I skipped the plant talk and stayed for the speaker about “Seniors for seniors” which is a group where younger seniors are paid to help older seniors stay in their home. Unfortunately I am not looking for a job at the moment.

Wednesday was exercise day. I played with the grandchildren. We walked to the store to pick up the ingredients to decorate cupcakes. 18 month old T got right into it. He loves the icing but not the jelly beans. It was granddaughter F’s idea that she found in her “Chirp” magazine. They were delicious. We also made tracks in the newly created garden across the street, Of course we had to get a slide or two in as well.

Thursday was lunch with my friend B. We met half way between our 2 homes. We had lunch in the casino. We visited the Stephen Leacock Museum and walked around the grounds. D H took pictures which will show up in Sunday in the City. We stayed overnight so that we could see the show “So You Think You Can Dance”. It was a wonderful show. If it comes in your area it is worth the price of a ticket.

Heading home today and then a busy weekend ahead. Have a great Friday everyone.

This week’s co-host is OBI from ELOQUENT RAMBLES- she came up with all the statements:

The statements:

  1. Tomorrow I am going to the theatre with our best friends.
  2. Does anyone live in Australia if so I would really like to visit.
  3. People sometimes think that retirement means boring.
  4. It is okay to play even if your old.

What a great idea, for younger seniors to help older seniors stay in their homes!
It sounds like you've had a fun week, so enjoy your weekend, too :)
Australia would be a lovely place to visit.

Enjoy your weekend!

Retirement does not mean boring. I like the idea of seniors helping seniors.

Playing is just as important when you are old as when you were young.
Lilly who lives in Australia writes a great blog (wish she would write more often). She recently posted about offering a room in her house to visitors through the service AirBNB. Here's the blog link: http://www.lillyslife.com/

Seniors helping seniors, huh? It might work. My mom is in her home. She helps a few friends in assisted living and in nursing homes who are not able to live on their home. That's nice, too, isn't it? She also eats out with retired friends often. Life can be fun at whatever age you are.
Isn't retirement wonderful? I never get bored even though I'm rarely on the go as much as you have been this week. Neither do I have grandchildren close enough to play with, unfortunately. Your weekend sounds great, so enjoy every minute. We can always rest when we can't do anything else, right?

I watch So You Think You Can Dance and just love the creativity and expression and talent. Would love to see them live. Seniors helping seniors is a great idea and a good way for senior to earn some extra income if they need it. Sounds like a win-win.

Play is for everyone! It is so important, on so many levels. I hope you have a nice time at the theatre, and a great weekend.

I always give myself time to play even though I am a hard worker.

I hope the theater was good.

I would LOVE to visit Australia. So far away, though.

ENJOY your Sunday.

Cupcakes!!!! It sounds like decorating those was a lot of fun. :)

Big high-five for #4. It is ALWAYS okay to play! I think the world would be a much happier place if we remembered to play just as much or more than time spent working.

Have a great rest of your weekend!
