MEET ME ON MONDAY

And now for this weeks Questions:

1. What are two must haves when you go on a road trip?

I need D H because he is an excellent navigator and a blanket when it is D H’s turn to drive because I nap.

2. What is your favourite amusement park ride?

The Ferris wheel is my favourite ride although I am also partial to carousels.

3. Post favourite picture from the last six months?

This is when the next phase of my life started. I retired!!!

4. What do you (did you) call your grandparents? If you are a grandparent what do your grandchildren call you?

Unfortunately I only had one set of grandparents and I call them Gramma and Grandpa. i was the first born daughter of my grandmother`s first born daughter. My grandmother was 4ft 11 in and had 19 children. I had 7 uncles and 1 aunt. Needless to say I was spoiled by my grandparents because they didn`t have to share with any other sets.

Congratulations on your retirement! I am so looking forward to that day! I have been staying in the house with the airconditioner to beat the heat, we did go to the beach for a week and the constant sea breeze was nice, but it was hat there too.

I'm looking for indoor activities, like bowling, going to the movies, museums, anything with air conditioning! I live in South Florida, so I'm accustomed to warm weather, but it's been over the top this year! Have a blessed week.

Congratulations on your retirement! I do hope your having a great first summer off. :) I called my grandparents Nana and Grandpa ~ I was the second youngest grandchild of 45 on my mother's side and happened to be the third youngest grandchild of 43 on my father's side. We lived away so it wasn't to often we saw my grandparents. I was named after my father's mother and look most like my father, who his mother dearly loved. . .if there was a favorite child he was it for her. I remember much attention from her. Things I need to travel: Sunglasses, water and yes a blanket - my family freezes me out. :) How are we beating the heat? My oldest daughter and I are reading a Jane Eyre together - this is one of the summer reading requirements I assigned to her for the summer. In May she asked if she could get get her drivers permit - I told her if she read three books: Jane Eyre, Emma and To Kill a Mocking Bird - she must write reports on two of these and Jane Eyre is for a book club. We will also be studying British Lit this coming year. Oh! and swimming keeps the heat from being so hot!

Not very well....Honey Bear and I were talking about it last night...It has just about gotten on my nerves....we stay inside mostly, have at least two fans going besides the AC.

Ah, I didn't realize that you are newly retired! Congratulations! I "retired" 5 years ago--when I simply stopped working :) I still have 2 more years before I'm old enough to draw my retirement, but I'm not sorry one bit that I made my move early.

My 5th question was the same as yours! I stay indoors, eat watermelon, and read when I can!

Congratulations kn your retirement!

don't like it as hot as it has been, but I only find it uncomfortable when I'm outside, not oppressive like so many. I'm in the air conditioning most of the time and I actually kinda like being able to step out t get the mail and warm up a little. So, I guess air conditioning is how I'm "coping" but I did decide against planting summer flowers this year.

I'd be even better if I had a pool. The fact that my driver side window in my car does not help because i actually do not like to use the A/C and have to now because I can't roll it up properly because something broke inside the door panel I need to get fixed. I actually love the heat.
